Born on July 6, 1978, in Gelnhausen, West Germany, to Darlene Mowry-Housely and Timothy Mowry, Tamera was raised alongside her twin sister Tia in California. Both sisters began their acting careers early on; Tamera made her debut in the sitcom Who’s the Boss? when she was just six years old.
In 1994, Tamera landed her most famous role as Tia Landry in the hit series Sister, Sister. The show aired for six seasons and made the twins household names. After its conclusion, Tamera went on to star in other shows such as Charmed, Strong Medicine, and The Game. In 2012, she also competed on Dancing with the Stars.
